Our Medical Director, Dr. Mark Loeschen DVM, has practiced in the Phoenix area since 1987. He is from the Midwest and graduated form Kansas State University in 1987. Professionally his areas of interest are in Dentistry and Orthopedics. He has two grown children, Amy and Michael and a black cat named Ichabod. When Dr. Loeschen is not practicing Veterinary medicine, enjoys riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and restoring old English automobiles. He also takes every opportunity to scuba dive and snow ski.
Dr. Hayes received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2001 from Colorado State University. She has been at VCA Elliot Park since January of 2013. She works part-time at Elliot Park, part-time at Sun Valley Animal Shelter in Glendale, and is Veterinary Director for PAWS Animal Sanctuary in Caye Caulker, Belize. She has been working in the shelter/humane medicine area since 1992 when she started volunteering at Denver Humane Society. Her passion for travel and spay neuter skills allow her to participate in spay neuter campaigns in the United States, Mexico, Belize, and even the Marshall Islands. She has two teenage children, both of whom also love to travel. Her son attends a biotech high school in downtown Phoenix and loves rock climbing and visiting his Uncle in Vienna. Her daughter goes to Marcos de Niza and is a skater in junior banked track roller derby and is one of the top players in the country. Her hobby is vintage Volkswagens. Her boyfriend and her own four. She has restored a 1971 Deluxe Bus and they are now working on a Squareback and a 412. The family attends many VW Bus campouts throughout the Southwest every year. They take the buses camping every spare weekend they can get.
